Our friend had a birthday party today and Sleeping Beauty herself made a special appearance! Reid, who has never had the word "shy" describe him, was completely star-struck. He asked me, "Mama, is that REALLY Sleeping Beauty?" I told him yes and he said in awe, "I can't believe she's really here." He spent the first 15 minutes hiding behind a chair, and then the next 30 hiding behind me when he thought she might accidentally look his way. Finally, at the end, he warmed up a bit and was following her out, telling her Bye after every step. Blair, on the other hand, who I thought would be beside herself in excitement to have a real-life "Barbie" in her midst, was completely "eh" about it.
