This is what you can expect on your first birthday when you’re kid #4: (sorry you got the shaft, chica. However, in my defense, it was a super crazy busy mad week. I’ll make it up to her next year.)
Breakfast didn’t get a picture. I’m sure it was just cereal and fruit. Without a candle, but with a song of course.
Lunch was ham and cheese. (Yes, still in pjs at lunch. Hey, when it’s your birthday, you get to be as lazy as you want!) She had only been on a mostly-table-food diet for 5 days, so for her, ham and cheese was super exciting!
She climbed on things she couldn’t get down from.
Climbed in things she couldn’t get out of.
Annoyed Tessie.
Played with daddy.
Was dragged to Reid’s baseball game in 102-degree heat.
Dinner didn’t get a picture either, but by this time, Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Melissa and Isabella finally made it to town, so she got to eat chicken strips and a warm roll with them.
Then we went back home for ice cream. Finally, she got a candle! And another song! However, it was over an hour past her bedtime and she was WAY crabby, so it was a quick birthday celebration.
She clearly was NOT interested in being withheld from the flaming candle we placed 3 inches in front of her.
Once the fire hazard was removed, she was all over it. “Hey, I could get used to this meal!”
If ice cream is this good, the colorful candle must be even better!
Then it was a quick clean up and off to bed. Exciting day, eh? Happy Birthday Big Girl!

Bernadette, 12:12am!!!!...you have your days and nights mixed up!!! Anyway, does look like Elise had a good 1st birthday. You have to grab what you can when you can. Reid was the doting big brother with Elise, that is really sweet to see how he interacts with his sisters. Happy, Happy First Birthday Elise. So happy we could share it with you. We love you, Grandma and Grandpa
